The River Road/County 1 road project continues in Sartell. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON. He says phase 1 of the project is close to wrapping up with phase 2 slated to start May 31. Fitzthum says phase 2 will focus on 7th Street North up to 12th Street.

Sartell has been anticipating additional commercial development along the Highway 15 corridor for quite awhile. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says they are getting closer to unveiling news of a commercial development on the river crossing where highway 15 and county road 1 intersect near the Sartell McDonalds.

Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum says the enforcement of a mask mandate was a big deterrent in instituting a mask mandate in his community. He says if an ordinance for a mask mandate were in place it would be hard to enforce.

Sartell has become a destination spot for sports tournaments. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says the city brings people to the community for tournaments often but many people leave for surrounding communities to stay in hotels and eat at restaurants.

He says the rain they received Tuesday was nice but he doesn't think their situation has changed much because of the lack of rain in both June, July and the first part of this month.

The City of Sartell is combining their Park and Rec offerings with the Sartell-St. Stephen School District. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says the city and school district have worked together on offerings before but this merging of Park & Rec offerings will be more efficient both both parties.

Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says Sartell residents should be excited about the commercial plans for River Crossing at the Highway 15/County Road 1 intersection across from the McDonald's on the west side of Highway 15.

Could Dunkin' Donuts be coming to Sartell? Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says it's still speculative at this time but he can confirm that a developer on Pine Cone Road is recruiting them.

Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says the city of Sartell's east side of the Mississippi River where the old paper mill used to be is a blank canvas that could be developed into something similar to how Stillwater uses the St. Croix river. Fitzthum says they are a bit limited due to residential and County Road 1 on the west side of the river.
