If this list has taught me anything, it's that I'm way too careless with a piece of plastic. Business Insider put together a list of the riskiest places to use your debit card and now I am overthinking every purchase I've ever made. Here are the places you should be on he lookout for in the St. Cloud area.

1. Sketchy ATM's - When possible, go to one that is associated with a bank. Also check for card skimmers, which are devices placed over the card slot designed to steal your information.

2. Gas Pumps - I can't remember a time I didn't pay at the pump. Who wants to waste time and energy going inside to pay? Turns out this is another place card skimmers can be used, so take a good look at the card slot before swiping. Or take the extra minute to pay inside.

3. Restaurants - My boyfriend actually just accidentally left his debit card at a restaurant in St. Cloud this past weekend. Someone else takes your card and walks away with it. There's naturally some risk there. Luckily nothing happened to my boyfriend but you just never know!

I've had my bank information stolen in the past. Someone drained my account in Oklahoma buying artisan teas and tea accessories. I wish they would have at least had better taste. Luckily my bank was able to stop the purchase and alert me and everything was cleared up in a matter of 48 hours. It was still a really scary process though! Be careful with your ID and bank information. Bad things can happen fast!
