A lot of people in Central Minnesota have ladders around their house. Some people even have more than one so they can have different sizes depending on what the chore is they need the ladder for.

One of the leaders in ladders for the last several years is Werner Ladders. They’re known for their quality, durability and dependability, that is until recently.

What Is The Issue?

The problem is said to be the ladders locking mechanism can jam and not fully lock in place, which in turn causes the ladder to be unstable leading to risk of the user falling off the ladder.

Of the 18 injuries, 14 of those fractured ribs, wrists, and legs. The other injuries included bruising, cuts and head injuries.

The ladders in question were sold between November of 2021 and February of 2024 for between $200 and $300 at Home Depot Stores. They were silver in color and have a blue top and a blue label on the side rail. The label will say Werner and Multi-Max Pro on it along with the serial number, which will be either ALMP-20IAA or ALMP-24IAA.

If you have one of these ladders you are urged to stop using it immediately and contact Werner Ladders for a full refund.

The folks at Werner say they have put the instructions on how to properly dispose of the recalled ladder on this link, http://www.wernerco.com/recalls . Once the disposal is complete, Werner Ladders will issue a refund.
