I’m not trying to brag or anything, but you should take all of my opinions concerning Star Wars pretty seriously. I’ve been a diehard fan since before the prequels were even released. That means I’ve been watching these films religiously since I was three years old.

I’ve seen every episode a thousand times over, easily. And don’t even think about challenging me to a game of Star Wars trivia. You’ll lose. Now that I’ve listed my credentials for you, I’d like to discuss the latest film in the franchise.

I had the privilege of seeing “Solo: A Star Wars Story” last night at Marcus Parkwood Theaters. Now, before I actually get into my thoughts on the film, I will say that I approached it with cautious optimism.

I have mixed feelings about Disney acquiring Star Wars and it’s pretty obvious that they’re going to over-saturate the franchise, to the point that everyone on the face of the Earth is going to be pretty sick of Star Wars films within the next few years. I really wish they would slow down a little.

A Star Wars film every 6 months along with a live action series and various cartoons scattered in between is just too much. That being said, I’ve been very impressed with all four of the Star Wars films that Disney has released so far. “The Force Awakens” “Rogue One” and “The Last Jedi” are all awesome movies in my opinion.

And now I’m pleased to inform you that “Solo” doesn’t disappoint. Seeing how Han, Lando, Chewbacca, and the Falcon all came together was absolutely awesome.

The back story to everyone’s favorite smuggler fits him perfectly, and the performances by Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover are flawless. Not to mention there’s quite the twist toward the end of the film. All and all I give “Solo” a 7 out of 10.
