Minnesota Institution Valleyfair Making Big Changes To Food Offerings
Valleyfair has hired a new executive chef from a ghost town in Alaska and he is ready to change the way you eat at the park. Chef Paul Slaughter recently started working at the park and will now oversee all 25 of Valleyfair's food and beverage experiences.
Before coming to Minnesota, Chef Slaughter managed a ghost town in Alaska while also running his Salmon and Bear Restaurant.
Valleyfair is introducing four new 'culinary journeys' for the upcoming season.
The Lucky Loon Kitchen is an 'up north' style restaurant that will serve scratch-made, scrumptious meals such as roasts, hand-breaded chicken, pasta, veggies, salads and desserts.
The Lucky Loon Kitchen is located near the main park entrance across from The Wave water ride.
One of the park's most popular desserts, funnel cake, is getting an upgrade this year as well. The Superior Funnel Cake Co. will 'immerse you in a symphony of flavors as our expert chef crafts mouthwateringly unique funnel cake concoctions.'
The Superior Funnel Cake Company is located across from the giant Ferris Wheel.
The Renegade Smokehouse boasts 'bold flavors and smoky aromas' that will 'redefine your barbeque experience.' The smokehouse will feature slow-smoked meats and savory sides.
The Northwoods Pizzeria is located near Soak City and features the park's signature hand-tossed pizza alongside crispy chicken tenders and soft, warm breadsticks.
