For those who have firearms, it is important when using the weapon that everything has been cleaned properly and works the way it should.

There are any number of problems that can be created if something doesn’t work the way it should. That’s what concerned me when I saw this recall.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall from Sig Sauer Romeo5 Red Dot Sights. The recall came down last week after it was discovered that the sight contains a button cell battery violates the mandatory federal regulations for consumer products.

The problem doesn’t come from the shooting of the weapon with this sight, it comes from when it is stored at home. The cell battery in question can easily be accessed by a child if the weapon is not locked away properly. Ingestion of this cell battery by a child can lead to internal burns, other serious injuries even death .

These sites were sold between February of 2023 and December of 2024 and were sold at popular retailers like Scheels, Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, and many others.

These sights were also sold online through sigsauer.com, amazon.com and many other online sources that carry weapons and accessories.

What to be specifically looking for are the Sig Sauer Romeo5 Red Dot Sights have the model numbers SOR520001 and 7400579, which is a part included in Model SORJ5310.

The sights in question have the Sig Sauer label and Romeo5 name on the side of the product. There will be a K or a M and the last digits of the serial number will be on the bottom of the sight.

If you own one of these sights, you are urged to stop using it right away and contact Sig Sauer for how to get this sight replaced.
