
Get Ready For Winter As MnDOT Seeks Snowplow Drivers
Our current circumstance is what many people longed for in December, January and February when the temperatures were so cold and blustery. Now we’re focused on mowing the grass, soaking up the sun and avoiding the pesky mosquitos.
But as we’re all enjoying what is left of the warmer days of summer, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is already thinking about snow. They’re not necessarily wishing for it, but they are preparing for it.

MnDot is accepting applications for snowplow drivers for the upcoming winter.
The position for Transportation Generalist/Highway Maintenance- Snow and Ice is a full-time gig with a salary range of $50,926 to $70,950.
There are several of these openings around the state, and the closing date for one of these is July 23rd, so you’d better hurry to get your information turned in for that one in Montevideo. The others have a little more time to get your application turned in.
The Snowplow driver position is just one of several openings with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, other jobs that are open with the State of Minnesota include:
- Temporary Maintenance Worker/ Snow and Ice Maintenance Worker- Pay range between $24.39 to $30.60 per hour. The closing date is August 8th.
- There are various Transportation Generalist positions open- These jobs have salaries ranging from $50,932 to $63,892. The closing date for these jobs is August 27th.
- There are several mechanic positions around the state with the Department of Transportation- These have varied salary ranges and closing dates to get your application turned in.
