Major Kudos To Staff At Pierz Freedom Fest
The annual Pierz Freedom Fest was held this past weekend. Normally the event is held in Genola, but due to construction in that area, the event was moved to the Morrison County Fairgrounds in Little Falls.
I understand that there are some folks who have supported the event in the past that were not happy that the event was moved out of Pierz. They were devoted to keeping the festival in the town.
This year was the first year of a two-day event, Friday and Saturday. This was also my first time attending Freedom Fest, so I couldn’t compare this year to years past.

But as I hung out at our radio station tents, allowing festival-goers to play games for prizes or have a chance to win meet and greet passes for Saturday nights concerts, I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of people and none of the people I met with had any issue with the new location.
As a matter of fact, several people commented that they felt there was more room for them to enjoy the event.
It was clear from the time I arrived that there were a lot of people working behind the scenes to make the event run smoothly. I’ve worked at a lot of festivals, fairs, and similar type events over the 36 years that my career has spanned, and those who were a part of the team making the event come to life, were some of the nicest I’ve encountered.
I was able to observe a good number of these folks wearing the Freedom Fest T-Shirts offering assistance, answering questions, and smiling to folks who might have needed a minute or two of their time.
They even offered to lend a hand as we moved equipment into the event and asked if they could help us load our stuff back up at the end. The staff of Pierz Freedom Fest clearly seemed to care to make sure that everyone who came enjoyed their time while they were there.
