The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported late last week that the VFAUOSIT brand kitchen faucets were recalled after the product was tested, and the results yielded the discovery of lead.

The levels that the lead can leach into the water can be very harmful to infants and young children. Lead has been found to cause negative neurological effects on infants and children. Lead exposure can also cause attention-related behavior problems.

The tests that led to this discovery also revealed that other contaminants were also being allowed into the water as well.

The faucets in question carry model number 06BNV and are brushed nickel, single handle faucets with a pull-down detachable spray with single hole installation.

If you still aren’t sure if this recall applies to you, it is suggested that you search your amazon.com history and look for either “VFAUOSIT” or “kitchen faucet” with the description terms that could include “pull-down sprayer, brushed nickel, stainless steel modern, high arc, single handle, single hole, pull out kitchen faucet for RV, bar, laundry, utility sink”.

There were over 29,000 of these faucets sold from January 2024 until this month and were sold for about $40 each, which made this item very popular.

The faucet will need to be replaced, but until it can, you will need to allow the water to run for at least 15 seconds before consuming it.

To get the faucet replaced you need to contact Amazon seller Whisper08 for instructions on how to do what needs to be done to dispose of the faucet and get a refund.
