ST. CLOUD -- South Junior High in St. Cloud will be closed for cleanup Wednesday following a small fire in the wood shop.

In a news release, district spokesperson Tami Deland said the St. Cloud Fire Department responded to reports of smoke toward the end of the school day Tuesday. Students were dismissed as usual.

The cause of the fire was not specified in the release.

All classes and after-school activities will be cancelled, but Deland says teachers will post assignments on the district's Schoology e-learning platform by 10 a.m.

More information is available on District 742's website.
