You know those stories your parents and grandparents always told you about how hard their lives were? How they had to walk to school, in 10 feet of snow, uphill both ways? Those might be exaggerations, but for the hardest working person I know, it’s not far from it.

That person, my friends, is Townsquare Media’s Kelly Cordes (my momma.)

A day in the life of Kelly goes something like this. She wakes up at 4:30 in the morning to head to work (a 40 minute drive one way.) After doing a kick-butt job at the radio station for 8 hours, she goes home and spends an additional 10 hours doing voice-over work in her home studio on the side. She’ll take an hour break in there somewhere to make dinner for her two teenage sons, to whom she is a single parent, and still finds the time to care for her wonderful cat and slobbering moron of a dog (who demands more attention than a newborn child).

She’s also a talented musician who practices piano and sings every night of the week so she can play shows on the weekends. She’ll go back into her home studio afterwards to finish her voice-over work until well past midnight, only to wake up a few hours later to repeat the process. All of this, just so she can provide a good life for her children. She bears a smile the entire time and never complains.

Kelly is the hardest working person I know and I’m proud to call her my mom. Who's the hardest worker you know? Let them know you appreciate them!
