When I was a young lad, I was fascinated with art. Whether it was painting, sculpting, or anything else, I loved it. I tried my hand at basically anything art related. Unfortunately I discovered pretty quickly that I had next to no artistic ability and I certainly didn’t have the patience or discipline to develop my skills.

As the years went by, the idea of learning to sculpt and paint faded into the recesses of my mind and I focused more on learning guitar instead. I do however, have a little brother who spends almost all of his time being artistic.

It blows my mind what he can do. He paints, draws, and makes sculptures and small figurines as well. I’d be lying if I said I’m not a little jealous. One of his skills that I find particularly impressive is pottery. How he’s able to mold his pieces so perfectly and work eye catching designs into them is bind boggling to me.

I’d definitely like to learn how he does it. If you’re in the same boat as myself you might want to check out the “Create Basic Pottery” classes at the Paramount Visual Arts Center in St. Cloud. There will be 4 classes between April 14th and May 15th available to everyone, and no previous experience is required. Tuition is 95$ a class and you can get your tickets online now.
