What Would Minnesotans Do if This Happened to You?
I think it’s safe to say that most of us work hard for our money, and protecting that money is something that is important to us all.

Sadly, too many of us have had someone gain access to our account and try to purchase things they want using the money we’ve earned.
Sure, if you contact your bank, often you can get your money back if you dispute the purchase. But then you’ve got to cancel that card, then wait for another to be sent to you.
And if you are like a lot of people, you’ve got automatic drafts that come out, you have to then contact those folks and give them the new card information. It’s an inconvenience and hassle for sure.
What would you do if you found yourself in this situation? A North Carolina woman, Rhonda, got a call last week telling her she had left her credit card at the diner she had just eaten at.
Rhonda turned around, went back to get the card. Upon arrival, she was told by an employee that they posted the card on the local community Facebook group hoping someone she knew would see it and let her know.
The initial post did not block out the card numbers.
Hearing this news, you can imagine she was mortified. When Rhonda checked her account, over two thousand dollars had been charged to her account. And there were numerous other attempted charges that were declined.
The bank has canceled that card, and closed the account and is working with Rhonda on disputing the charges that weren’t hers. Rhonda eats at the diner each regularly she says, following her weekly doctor's appointment.
The employee was trying to help, but this backfired. The Better Business Bureau says you should never post pictures of credit or debit cards online in an attempt to find someone. The BBB says that even blocking out numbers is taking a big risk.
The owner of the Restaurant had no comment when contacted by the local media there, which I think is a bad look. Maybe saying something would at least keep people from feeling like you don’t care about the situation.
So, what would you do if this happened to you?
