Minnesota Invites You To Vote For The Coolest Local Creations
Minnesota is a state with a great history, especially when it comes to products that are made in this state. SPAM, scotch tape, post-it notes and the pacemaker for starters.
Products that people use, if not every day, at least on a regular basis, are made right here in Minnesota.
An Interesting Contest Idea
The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce is celebrating this fact with an interesting contest that will highlight other interesting things made here.

The State’s Chamber is teaming up with BMO to invite companies to put on display the Coolest Things made in Minnesota. Manufacturing is still alive and well and is the single largest private sector component of the state's Gross Domestic Product.
42% of Minnesota’s Fortune 500 companies involve manufacturing; 325,000 Minnesotans work in these manufacturing fields. In 2015, Minnesota exported over $120 billion dollars in goods, that’s a lot of Minnesota going out to the rest of the world.
The nominations are open now through August 15th. Then on September 2nd, the first bracket of nominees will be announced. From that date until October 5th, the public will be allowed to vote for the product they think is the coolest made in the state.
The parameters of the contest are that any product made in Minnesota by a company that has been in business for at least two years is eligible for consideration in the contest.
Companies do not have to be a member of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce to enter their products. The winners will be announced on October 5th at the Manufacturers' Summit. The winner last year was 3M’s Magic Scotch Tape.
