Get Ready, It’s Time for Pioneer Days in Albany
This weekend is the annual celebration of Pioneer Days in Albany. Events run Thursday through Sunday this year, and they’ve got something planned that will keep everyone having fun.
One of the biggest attractions is a collection of antique equipment and items, like snowmobiles, telephones and telephone equipment, and more than 400 tractors on display. And there will be over 500 engines on display as well.
There will be many other items on display that will bring back memories or generate conversations with younger generations.
Quite possibly the “headliner” of the equipment on display will be the 150 Case Road Locomotive which will be on hand all weekend.
Pioneer Days is a theme that of course lends to looking back at the history of Albany and items that used to be popular like the collection of picnic baskets and other decorative items, ice cream makers, radios and radio equipment and televisions, as well as antique quilts. There will also be some new quilts featured too.
There will be a garden tractor pull Friday night at 6, and then at 7, the coronations of the Pioneer Queen and Princess. Saturday night there will be a log sawing Contest which will start at dusk.
If you are always looking for a good deal, check out the flea market which seems to add more vendors every year.
The weekend will include a lot of demonstrations and will wrap up with the All-American Wild West Show Sunday morning at 11:30.
And of course, there will be plenty of food options for you to choose from too.
Tickets for the Pioneer Days are $12 each or you can get a pass for the weekend for $25. Kids 12 and under get in free.
