Minnesota’s Crackdown On Distracted Driving Is Getting Serious
I was having a conversation with a friend of mine the other day and he was telling me a story from when we were teenagers and stopped and pointed out the fact that those were days long before cell phones.
For many of us, we remember the days before we had phones attached to our hands. We can recall getting in the car and not being tempted to call someone, or worse, text or look at social media while we’re going down the road.
Are You Aware Of Minnesota Law?
Now let’s fast forward to the modern day, the technology we have is advanced enough to were holding a phone while driving should not be something we’re doing. And in Minnesota, it’s illegal to do so.

You may be saying to yourself, “I know that already”, well, count yourself better than others who either haven’t realized that yet, or just don’t seem to care.
Minnesota law says that if you’re driving and talking on the phone, you must do so on a hands-free device. But state law enforcement officials realize that not everyone is doing that, so they’re working to crack down on people who are driving while holding their phones.
Last week, The State Department of Public Safety published on their “X” account that a special effort is being used to spot drivers who were breaking the law. Law Enforcement agencies around the state have this type of vehicle in use.Take this notice and use it as a reminder of what not to do, and to spread the word to your friends and family so that they will also take the proper steps to make sure they're safe on the roads.
