The more you take, the harder it is to keep up with all that you have. Especially if you transition from one medication to another and have left over pills. A lot of people have medications that they used to take but no longer have to.

These pills stick around and take up space in our medicine cabinets or drawers and even though we’ve forgotten about them and can be easily accessible by anyone else. Sadly, this is one way that drugs make it into schools and the hands of people that it shouldn’t.

If you have pills that you’re no longer taking and are possibly even expired, you’ll have the chance to safely dispose of these pills on Saturday April 26th from 10am-2pm.

This effort is done in conjunction with the DEA National Takeback effort. This is a safe way to get rid of the pills you don’t take anymore. This is also a great way to do this anonymously if that is important to you.

Using the Take Back Day website, I asked for locations within 50 miles of St. Cloud and here’s the drop off points that I found.

The following Police Departments and Sheriff’s Departments are serving as drop off points:

Annandale PD

Princeton PD

St. Francis PD

Kandiyohi Sheriff’s Department

Onamia PD

Champlin PD

Anoka Co. Sheriff’s Department

Coon Rapids PD

Braham PD

Brooklyn Park PD- North Precinct

Carver County Sheriff’s Department

Kanabec County Sheriff’s Department

Columbia Heights PD

and

Eden Prairie PD

You will also be able to drop off unused medicines at Wal-Mart in Isanti with the Sheriff’s Department there, Waconia City Hall with the Carver County Sheriff’s Department, Citizens State Bank in Montrose with the Wright County Sheriff’s Department, and at the Coburns location also with the Wright County Sheriff’s Department.

Please put this date on your calendar, and if you need directions to either of the above listed locations, a link to directions is available on this website link.
