Popular Leaf Blower Used in Minnesota Is Recalled
Now that we’ve moved into August, most of us in Minnesota are settling into trying to enjoy the last lingering days of summer, but we’re starting to turn our attention to football season and to fall.
Once fall gets here, a popular past-time (do you detect the sarcasm here) will be managing the leaves that fall to the ground. The area will be serenaded by the sound of leaf blowers, the tools that a lot of people choose to hopefully reduce the time spent dealing with those leaves.
If you own a leaf blower, is it an Echo brand? If so, you need to be aware there has been a recall on 2 models of Echo Backpack blowers.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says that the PB-5810H and the PB-5810T 59.7cc gas powered blowers made by Echo can have a fuel leak from the fuel line which causes a fire hazard.
The blowers are orange and black with ECHO printed on the starter recoil housing. The model numbers and the serial numbers are printed on the right side of the black blower fan housing.
There are several model numbers included in this recall, for the PB-5810H, those numbers are P61312001001 to P61312002590 and for the PB-5810T the model numbers range from P61212001001 to P61212004155.
Any consumer that has one of these models is strongly urged to stop using this blower immediately and contact your Echo dealer about getting a free repair of this issue. There have not been any reports of injuries to this point.
