There are some serious rules and regulations surrounding fireworks in Minnesota. Some consumer fireworks are legal to have and to light, and some are not.
Earlier this week members of the Minneapolis Police Department, along with members of the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office shared parts of their plan to keep Minneapolis safe this 4th of July.
With the 4th of July in the rearview mirror less fireworks are being shot off in Minnesota in the evenings. Stearns County Attorney Janelle Kendall joined me on WJON. She indicates violators of Minnesota's fireworks laws rarely make it to her office with most of these offenses falling in the misdemeanor or petty misdemeanor category.
