How Much AI Will Minnesota Students Encounter This Year?
It’s back to school time for kids across Minnesota. It's transition time for students, parents and teachers as they try to shift from the summer routine to the day in and day out during the school year.

And according to Morning Brew, Artificial Intelligence could be a part of the yearly routine for this school year.
The article quotes information from the Walton Family Foundation and a Gallup Poll that says that 6 out of 10 teachers used some form of AI for drafting their lesson plans, developing assignments, and even grading the students' work.
The use of Artificial Intelligence is not just being used to help teachers with their workload, but the hope it will also help the students actually learn more instead of just copying and pasting information they discover with a simple search.
A Commitment From The Tech Industry
Schools and Teachers are always needing more support, and the Tech industry is committing in a big way to aid in teaching and helping students become more verse in the technology that is unfolding.
Microsoft, Open AI, Anthropic have said that they are supporting schools with 23 million dollars to train teachers how to use the technology and share that information with their students.
There are some teachers and schools who are not leaning into the use of AI who feel that it can have a negative impact on the student's ability to think on their own as well as impact on the student's mental health.
Morning Brew says that Government data suggests that less than half of the public schools around the country have a rule outlining the use of Artificial Intelligence in the classroom.
