The American Red Cross Is Calling On Minnesotans
Most of us lead busy lives. Between work and family obligations finding time for us can be quite challenging. There’s a big concern around the country about people burning out and the pressure of all that we’re trying to do affecting our mental health.

But if you’re like me, the older I get, the more I would like to be able to make an impact, at least a small one, on the world we live in. If you would like to become a helping hand, The American Red Cross maybe just what you’re looking for.
You may be like a lot of folks who think of donating blood when you hear about the Red Cross, and of course they do that. And they always need your donations, especially once we get into the summer travel season when donations go down and need goes up with all the travelers on the roads.
But the American Red Cross needs so much more than folks to donate blood, they have plenty of opportunities on many levels to become a volunteer.
The Red Cross says that 90% of humanitarian work they do each year is carried out by volunteer forces, so that makes it very clear how important the role of those who want to get involved and make an impact plays in the role of Red Cross.
You could become a team member in one of the following areas:
Disaster Relief
Biomedical Services
Communications and Public Affairs
Service to the Armed Forces
Fundraising and Development
Volunteer Services
And
Operations
As you can see, the Minnesota and Dakotas Red Cross has lots of options for you. They offer training and will try to match you with the area that you will feel the most comfortable.
If you’ve ever known someone who has been impacted by the great work of the American Red Cross, you already know how impactful their work can be. And if you don’t know someone, spend a little time researching what the American Red Cross does, it won’t take long to figure it out.
