This is a time of year when some people look to give some of their free time and become a volunteer to help others. There are many opportunities out there to become a volunteer for.

If you like helping people and you have a teacher’s heart, here’s a great chance for you to give of your time and knowledge.

The Saint Cloud School District is looking for volunteers to help serve as tutors for their Adult Education program. The program holds classes at Quarryview Elementary School for anyone over the age of 17 who has not finished school.

So many folks face situations in their young lives where they feel that school isn’t the right place for them for whatever reason. This program can help those teens that are now adults earn their diplomas.

This program can help use a combination of life experiences along with the high school credits and G.E.D. tests to help adults achieve their goal. The fact that life experiences can be applied to anyone wanting a diploma is an appealing reason for adults to join this program.

Volunteer Tutors will be working with a professional, trained staff of teachers, social workers, support staff and others in a prepared environment to help have the optimal impact on those who come into the program.

If you have an interest in becoming a volunteer, call 320-370-8220 or click here for more details.
