What Minnesota Cities Are Among The Happiest In The U.S.?
Here’s a question for you, are you happy? This is somewhat of a rhetorical question; I’m not trying to get into your business. Let me rephrase, as Minnesotans, are we happy?

I ask because I came across a list provided to us by Wallethub that list’s what they call the happiest cities in America. Before we go through the list, let’s see which cities were the in the spotlight of the study, which looked at the 150 most populated cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state.
The factors that were considered to reach the final decisions were Emotional and Physical Well-Being, Income and Employment, and Community and Environment.
The two most populated cities in Minnesota turn out to the be the only two in our state featured in the study, Minneapolis and St. Paul. Minneapolis is said to be the 34th happiest city in the country, while St. Paul was 78th.
The Cities are so different from most of the rest of the state, is it a good comparison to base all of Minnesota on the two most populated areas? The survey’s focus wasn’t gauging the whole state, but it made me think enough to ask the question.
Interesting enough, this data from Wallethub says that the top three happiest cities in America are in California; Fremont, San Jose and Irvine.
The city that was found the be the 4th happiest was Sioux Falls, South Dakota, followed by Overland Park Kansas. Lincoln Nebraska was sixth, Madison Wisconsin was seventh, Scottsdale Arizona came in eighth.
And then two California cities bookend the top 10 with San Francisco coming in nineth and Huntington Beach tenth.
There are several different sub-factors in each of the three main areas of focus that helped reach the decision that were made. But one thing that was pointed out is that where you are located carries a heavy amount of weight into overall happiness. And location means more than just how the weather is there. Does your family have enough to do for entertainment, and can you make a good living there?
The report does stress that money can only make you so happy, as it points out that the United States is ranked 23rd in the world when it comes to happiness.
It’s true, you can make your own happiness to an extent, but where we live factors into that overall happiness. How happy are you living in the city or town where you live?
